Juniper Mist
Juniper Mist cloud-managed access points authenticate WiFi clients against IronWiFi cloud RADIUS using WPA2-Enterprise (802.1X), with an optional external captive portal for guest networks. RADIUS server, shared secret, and splash page URL are configured per WLAN template in the Mist dashboard under Network > WLANs.
Prerequisites
In IronWiFi Console (complete these first):
- Create a Network in IronWiFi Console
- Create a Captive Portal with the appropriate vendor
- Note your RADIUS settings and Splash Page URL
In Juniper Mist:
- Administrative access to Juniper Mist dashboard
- Network connectivity to IronWiFi RADIUS servers

- Configure RADIUS server details
- Test with a known user
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Possible Cause | Solution |

| Portal not appearing | Walled garden misconfigured | Check walled garden includes |
| Authentication failing | RADIUS settings incorrect | Verify RADIUS IP, ports, and shared secret match IronWiFi Console |
| No internet after auth | Firewall or VLAN issue | Check firewall rules and VLAN settings |
| Authentication works but internet access is blocked | Walled garden or accounting issue | Check walled garden settings and verify RADIUS accounting is enabled |
| Users are disconnected after a short time | Session timeout misconfigured | Check session timeout settings in IronWiFi groups and verify RADIUS accounting port configuration |
| Captive portal page does not load | HTTPS redirect or splash URL issue | Verify HTTPS redirect settings and check that the splash page URL is correctly configured in the Mist dashboard |

Vendor-Specific Notes
Juniper Mist uses a cloud-based management model. RADIUS settings are configured per WLAN in the Mist dashboard under Organization > WLANs. Ensure your Mist APs have firmware version 0.12+ for full RADIUS support.
