Can QR codes be automatically sent to guest WiFi users instead of usernames and passwords?

Most device vendors (Android, iOS, etc.) do not natively support sharing WPA2-Enterprise credentials via QR codes, so distributing a username and password through a QR code is not directly possible for enterprise networks. However, a workaround exists if your access point vendor supports Identity Pre-Shared Key (IPSK), such as Cisco Meraki. In that case, you can generate a unique pre-shared key per user and encode it in a QR code.

For open networks protected by a captive portal, IronWifi offers a built-in QR code generator that creates a scannable code linking guests directly to your network. You can find this tool at the IronWifi QR Code Generator. This approach is well suited for guest WiFi scenarios where users scan a QR code displayed at your venue to connect and then authenticate through the captive portal.
